It can only be a matter of time now before I'm reported to the authorities for lurking on street corners with D700 in hand. This particular corner is a favourite of mine because of the angular road markings. Usually, though, a street scene is enlivened by the inclusion of a figure or two and that's what led to my lurking.

This was a nice, foggy night, perfect for some atmospheric street shots but there weren't too many other people mad enough to be out walking so late on. My patience paid off, however, when the two women appeared with a large, white greyhound-type dog. They helped fill in that part of the frame quite nicely!

If you click on the pic above for the bigger version, you'll see that there's quite a lot of noise in this 4,000 ISO file but I think it has the look of film grain rather than the less attractive digital variety. It could be a scan of a Tri-X negative rated at 1250 ISO and developed in Diafine. Lovely stuff!
